Frequently asked questions about QuickCalo

Last updated: · Prepared by: QuickCalo Team

Short answer

QuickCalo is an AI calorie tracker for iPhone and Android that works without an account. Your free analyses renew every day, your log stays on your phone and every result can be corrected before you save it. Below are the questions we hear most often, grouped by topic, with short answers.

General

Does QuickCalo work on iPhone?

Yes. QuickCalo works on iPhone with iOS 15.0 or later and is free to download from the App Store.

Is QuickCalo available on Android?

Yes. It works on Android phones with Android 7.0 or later and is free on Google Play.

Do I need an account?

No. QuickCalo does not ask for an account, email or password. Your log stays on your phone, and a Premium subscription is linked to your App Store or Google Play account.

Does QuickCalo work offline?

Photo and text analyses need an internet connection because the estimate is made on the server. Your log and recipes are stored on your phone and can be viewed offline.

Which languages does QuickCalo support?

QuickCalo is available in Turkish, English, Arabic and Indonesian. You can change the language in Settings, and analysis results come back in the language you choose.

Analysis and accuracy

Does QuickCalo recognise dishes from different cuisines?

It tries to recognise home-cooked meals and dishes from many cuisines, but like every AI estimate it can be wrong. If a dish is misidentified, correct its name on the confirmation screen.

No. Photos are taken with the in-app camera. For an earlier meal, describe it with "Add by typing".

What is "Add by typing"?

It lets you describe a meal in a sentence and get an estimate of calories and protein. Amounts in grams or millilitres (for example "150 g yogurt") are taken into account.

How do I fix a wrong result?

Before saving, change the food name, portion or calories on the confirmation screen. Changing the name refreshes the analysis; the first name correction in each analysis is free. See How it works.

What if the food is not recognised?

Even when QuickCalo cannot recognise the food, it usually still returns an estimate and opens the confirmation screen, where you can correct the name or leave without saving. Every analysis that returns a result counts as one analysis. If an analysis fails because of a connection or server error, it does not count.

Free version and Premium

How many free analyses do I get per day?

You get 3 free analyses a day. Photo and text analyses share the same allowance, which resets at midnight on your phone. Premium has no daily limit.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, the annual plan includes a 1 month free trial for accounts the store considers eligible. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the annual subscription starts.

How much is Premium?

In the US, Premium costs $1.99 per month or $14.99 per year. In other countries, the local price is shown in the App Store, Google Play and the app.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On iPhone, go to Settings › your name › Subscriptions; on Android, open Google Play › profile › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

Privacy and data

Where is my data stored?

Your meals, goals, weight and water logs are stored in the app's local storage on your phone; QuickCalo does not upload them to a server. See the Privacy Policy.

Are my photos stored?

No. Photos are not added to your log or gallery; they are resized, stripped of EXIF data and sent only for analysis, and the server does not store them. Only the analysis result is cached for 1 hour.

Will my log move to a new phone?

Because there is no account, your log does not sync automatically. On Android, app data is not included in Google backup; on iPhone, it may be included in an iCloud device backup. You can restore Premium on a new phone with the same store account via Settings › Restore purchases.

Features

What is the dietitian report?

It is a PDF summary of your logged meals, created on your phone, that you can share with your dietitian or doctor. It contains no assessment or advice and is a Premium feature.

How many recipes are in the app?

There are 42 recipes in each language. Every day one of 12 signature recipes is fully unlocked for everyone; the ingredients and steps of the other recipes are part of Premium.

Can I track water?

Yes. Water tracking and water reminders are Premium features.
